Asif Ali Zardari is currently serving as the President of Pakistan and became the country’s 14th president in March 2024. A senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Zardari assumed the presidency after a coalition arrangement between the PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) following Pakistan’s general elections.
He is the widower of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and has remained one of Pakistan’s most influential political figures for several decades. His political journey has also been surrounded by controversies, including corruption allegations, which he has rejected.
