New Delhi: The love story of Balen Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, and his wife, Sabina Kafle, is no less than a film story. This relationship, which started with poems, gradually deepened so much that both of them got married.
Sabina Kafle is a resident of Urlabari in the Morang district of Nepal. She is a writer and used to write love poems on social media. Balen Shah himself is a rapper and lyricist, but he was so impressed by Sabina's poems that he contacted her. From here the conversation between the two started, and gradually this relationship turned into love.
The two met for the first time at a literary event in 2017. Balen Shah later said that Sabina's simplicity and her creativity impressed him a lot. After this meeting, the closeness between the two grew, and they got married in a simple ceremony in Morang district in February 2018.
Only close relatives attended this ceremony. In 2023, both were blessed with a daughter.

Sabina has graduated in public health from Noble College. She has also written a novel titled 'Deepalta.' She is known as a sensitive writer who writes poems based on love and society.
Balen Shah contested and won the 2022 Kathmandu mayoral election as an independent candidate. His victory was seen as a wave of new politics in Nepal. He is currently very popular among the youth, and there is also a demand to make him the next prime minister.
