Akhilesh Yadav urges centre to clarify India’s stand on global conflict
New Delhi: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has called on the Government of India to clearly state its position on the ongoing international crisis, urging the country to emphasise peace and responsible diplomacy amid escalating global tensions.
In a statement addressing the impact of growing conflict worldwide, Yadav said that in times of deadly attacks and war affecting both political leaders and ordinary citizens, it is important for governments to clarify their stance and prioritise efforts aimed at restoring stability.
Yadav stressed that India, traditionally seen as a country advocating dialogue and neutrality in global conflicts, should clearly communicate whether it stands for peace or supports military confrontation.
He also urged the government to explain what diplomatic initiatives it is undertaking at international forums and bilateral levels to help reduce tensions and promote peaceful resolution.

According to Yadav, India’s position carries significant weight on the global stage, and a clear articulation of its diplomatic strategy would reassure citizens as well as the international community.
The Samajwadi Party leader also highlighted the importance of verifying information related to casualties and destruction during conflicts.
He noted that wartime reports can sometimes become part of strategic narratives used by different sides in a conflict. Therefore, he said, governments should ensure that any news about casualties or military developments is carefully verified before being presented to the public.
Yadav emphasised that transparency and factual reporting are crucial in preventing misinformation during periods of international tension.
Expressing concern over the broader consequences of armed conflicts, Yadav said the loss of human lives remains deeply tragic regardless of nationality or political affiliation.

He said the international community must prioritise dialogue, diplomacy and mutual respect in order to prevent further escalation and ensure that peace efforts remain at the centre of global decision-making.
