Tel Aviv/Tehran: Amid ongoing tensions in West Asia, Iran launched a major missile attack on Israel late Saturday night. The attacks targeted the cities of Dimona and Arad in southern Israel, injuring more than 100 people. The injured included women and children, who were immediately admitted to hospitals.

Dimona and Arad targeted

Approximately 47 people were injured in the attack in Dimona, while more than 50 were reported injured in Arad. According to local media, six people in Arad are in critical condition. An eyewitness reported that the missile struck a community building, damaging several nearby houses.

Netanyahu's strong statement

Reacting to the situation following the attack, Benjamin Netanyahu said that this is a very difficult time for the country. He said that the government has ordered further strengthening of emergency relief and rescue operations. Netanyahu also made it clear that Israel will continue to retaliate against its enemies on all fronts.

Nuclear facility targeted

This attack is reported to be the first time Iran has targeted an Israeli nuclear facility. The attack on the Dimona nuclear facility is considered extremely serious. This attack occurred just hours after the attack on Iran's Natanz nuclear facility, further escalating tensions in the region.

Interception lapse, investigation launched

According to media reports, the Israeli Air Force was not completely successful in intercepting the missile attack in Arad. Two interception attempts failed, prompting an investigation into the incident. However, major damage was averted due to many people taking shelter.
