Tehran: Iran Health Ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpour said on Sunday that 244 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on Iran over the past 65 hours.

In a post on the social media platform X, Kermanpour noted that about 70 women and children were among the dead and that 1,277 people had been hospitalised.

"In just three recent strikes in Tehran, 73 women and kids killed; 20 children killed in Chamran residential complex, 10 still remain trapped under rubble 48 hours later," Baghaei said on X.

The day before, the Iranian Health Ministry said that about 1,500 had been injured in Iran less than three days after the start of Israeli attacks on the territory of the Islamic Republic, of whom 220 had died. Moreover, according to Kermanpour, more than 90% of the victims were civilians.

Early Friday, Israel launched airstrikes on Tehran and several other cities across Iran, killing a number of the country's top military commanders and nuclear scientists. The strikes continued across various parts of Iran on Saturday and Sunday.

In response, Iran has launched missile attacks on multiple targets in Israel since Friday, causing casualties and significant damage.

The embassy has appealed to Indian citizens to be vigilant and to be cautious instead of getting nervous. Also, he has been asked to stay in contact with the Indian Embassy in view of the current situation.

The advisory advises all Indians to avoid unnecessary activities, keep an eye on updates on the social media account of the embassy, and follow the security instructions issued by the local administration.

Google Form and Telegram link shared

The embassy has shared a Google form on the social media platform 'X,' asking Indians living in Iran to fill in their details. Along with this, the embassy said, "Do not panic, be cautious, and maintain contact with the Indian Embassy."

Apart from this, the embassy has also shared a Telegram link so that Indian citizens living in Iran can join the mission and get necessary information from time to time. This link is only for those Indians who are currently in Iran. Also, some helpline numbers have been issued for emergencies.

On Friday, June 13, Israel launched a major attack on Iran, in which it targeted Iran's nuclear, missile, and military bases. In response, Iran also carried out a counterattack on Israel. The tension still remains, and Israel has warned of more strict action.
