Jerusalem: The Israeli military on Friday claimed it carried out a major strike on, what it described as, a key missile production facility of the Iranian regime in Yazd.

According to the IDF, the targeted site in Yazd was a primary hub for the planning, development, assembly, and storage of advanced missiles and sea mines. These weapons, it claimed, were intended for launch from cruise platforms, submarines, and helicopters against maritime targets.

Strikes on Missile Infrastructure Across Iran

The IDF said its air force also conducted coordinated strikes across Tehran, focusing on infrastructure linked to ballistic missile production. “The Air Force targeted infrastructure and sites used by the regime to produce weaponry, with an emphasis on ballistic missile production sites,” the military said in a statement.

In western Iran, additional overnight operations were carried out based on military intelligence inputs. The strikes reportedly hit missile launchers, storage facilities, and other strategic assets considered a threat to Israel.

Operations Extend to Kermanshah and Dezful

The Israeli Air Force conducted around 20 fighter jet sorties over the past day, targeting multiple locations in western Iran, including Kermanshah and Dezful.

During these operations, approximately 70 munitions were deployed against sites used for storing and launching ballistic missiles, as well as air defence systems. The IDF also claimed that personnel operating from these locations were eliminated.

Focus on Reducing Threat to Israel

The IDF stated that its operations are ongoing and aimed at weakening Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities. “We continue to operate without respite to strike at the regime’s missile array, with the aim of reducing the scale of fire toward the citizens of the State of Israel,” the statement added.

The latest strikes underscore the continuing volatility in West Asia, where military actions persist despite parallel diplomatic efforts, raising concerns of a wider regional escalation.
