New Delhi: Few members of US President Donald Trump’s inner circle have remained as consistently close to him as Natalie Harp. The 35-year-old aide has become one of Trump’s most trusted staff members, often seen accompanying him during official events, domestic trips and White House activities.
Harp has gained attention for her role in managing Trump’s communications, including helping prepare posts for his Truth Social account. Her growing visibility has made her a subject of political discussion and criticism from Trump’s opponents.
Harp recently drew renewed attention after Georgia Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff mentioned her during a speech that went viral.
Ossoff criticized Trump’s travel arrangements and referred to reports that Harp accompanied the president during a private plane switch after his visit to Turkey. He also questioned her prominent presence alongside Trump during key moments.
Harp’s journey into Trump’s political world followed an unusual path. A California native from a conservative Christian family, she became widely known after publicly crediting Trump’s policies with helping save her life.
During Trump’s first term, he signed the Right to Try Act, which expanded access to experimental medical treatments for certain patients. Harp, who had battled bone cancer, said she benefited from access to such treatment after conventional therapies failed.
She spoke about her experience during the 2020 Republican National Convention, where she praised Trump for supporting the legislation.
Her appearance increased her popularity among Trump’s supporters, and she later joined an advisory role for Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign.
After Trump lost the 2020 election, Harp worked as a host for conservative news network One America News Network (OAN), where she became known for defending Trump and promoting his political views.
She left OAN in 2022 and joined Trump’s next presidential campaign, eventually becoming part of his close advisory circle.
Harp’s official position is executive assistant to the president, a role usually associated with managing schedules, communication flow and administrative responsibilities.
However, observers say her influence appears far greater than a traditional executive assistant position. She is frequently seen near Trump during Oval Office meetings, public appearances and trips aboard Air Force One.
Some White House insiders and journalists have described her as a “gatekeeper” because of her ability to manage access and information reaching the president.
Harp has reportedly earned the nickname “human printer” among some White House observers because she is often seen carrying a portable printer and providing Trump with printed copies of articles, reports and social media content.
Sources familiar with White House operations say she plays an important role in filtering information and preparing material that Trump reviews.
She is also known for helping draft and publish Trump’s Truth Social posts, often writing messages in a style similar to the president’s own communication style.
Despite the public attention surrounding Harp, Trump has rarely spoken extensively about her role. However, the White House has described her as a “trusted and valued” member of the administration.
Trump critics have questioned her influence, while supporters view her as a loyal aide who has remained committed to the president for years.
Her unusual rise from a cancer survivor and political supporter to one of Trump’s closest aides has made her one of the most closely watched figures inside the current White House.
