Kathmandu: A tragic accident occurred late Friday night in Nepal’s Karnali Province. Eight people were killed when a jeep fell into a ravine in the Jharmare area of ​​Rukum West district.

Ten others were injured. The jeep, carrying 18 people, reportedly fell off a road in a mountainous area and into a 700-foot-deep ravine.

The accident occurred in Jharmare, 500 kilometers from Kathmandu, while the jeep was traveling from Khalanga in Musikot to Syalidi in Athbiskot.

Initial investigations revealed that seven people died on the spot, while one person died while undergoing treatment at a local hospital. The victims ranged in age from 15 to 30. The remaining 10 injured are being treated at the Rukum district hospital.
