Following this significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to congratulate him. The call occurred while Netanyahu was attending a security cabinet meeting discussing the Gaza ceasefire and hostage release.

PM Modi's Response

PM Modi wrote on the social media platform X : "Congratulations to my friend Prime Minister Netanyahu on the progress made under President Trump's Gaza Peace Plan. We welcome the decision to release hostages and enhanced humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza. Terrorism in any form is unacceptable."

Modi also said that Netanyahu has always been a close friend of India, and this friendship will continue in the future.
