Trump Administration Warns Iran as US Targets Military Sites and Warships
Washington DC: The United States has made a significant claim regarding its ongoing military campaign against Iran. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that under President Donald Trump's leadership, the United States has consistently targeted Iran's military infrastructure and inflicted significant damage. She explained that this operation, dubbed "Operation Epic Fury," aims to weaken Iran's military power.
According to the White House, the primary objective of this military operation is to eliminate Iran's ballistic missile capability, completely destroy its missile industry, and weaken the Iranian Navy. Leavitt stated that so far, the US military has destroyed more than 20 Iranian ships, including a major submarine.
She added that torpedoes were used in this operation for the first time since World War II. The US claims that this operation has dealt a significant blow to Iran's maritime military power.
The White House also claimed that no Iranian ships are currently active in the Arabian Sea, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Oman. According to Karoline Leavitt, the US military could gain control of Iranian airspace within the next few hours. This could be followed by major attacks on identified military bases.
She stated that the US's primary objective is to ensure that Iran cannot acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
According to the White House, the US previously attempted to find a solution with Iran through negotiations. Even offering sanctions relief, Iran declined.
Leavitt stated that the US military has sufficient weapons and resources and could intensify the military operation if necessary. She also expressed hope that European countries would support the US in this operation.
The White House also stated that one of the objectives of this military action is to secure global energy supplies. The Strait of Hormuz is considered a vital route for approximately 20 percent of the world's oil trade.
The US claims that after this operation, Iran will not be able to impact oil supplies through this route.
The White House stated that the Trump administration is continuously working to ensure the safety of Americans abroad. So far, more than 17,500 American citizens have returned home.
The government has urged American citizens stranded abroad to register on the official website or contact the State Department's helpline to ensure their safe return.
