Suicide Bombing Kills 11 At Pakistan Police Checkpoint (Img: X)
Islamabad: At least 11 people were killed and 30 others injured in a blast at a roadside police checkpoint in Dera Ismail Khan in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Police informed that the explosion occurred at the checkpoint in the north-western city. In a statement the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, or TTP, claimed responsibility for the attack.
In recent years, Pakistan has witnessed a rise in militant attacks. Several incidents has been claimed by the TTP and the Baloch Liberation Army, or BLA.
According to police and rescue officials, a suicide bomber allegedly detonated a vehicle packed with explosives at the checkpoint, triggering the deadly blast.

The explosion caused multiple casualties, with the deceased and injured being taken to a nearby hospital. A spokesman for the provincial emergency service said that some of those injured were in critical condition.
Videos circulating on social media showed a large cloud of grey smoke rising from what was alleged to be the site of the explosion.

The attack adds to concerns over continuing militant violence in Pakistan, particularly in regions such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces and police have repeatedly been targeted.
