Israel’s approval of 19 new West Bank settlements worsens the Palestinian crisis, with deteriorating humanitarian conditions and restricted aid. Palestinian Ambassador Abdullah Abu Shawesh highlights severe funding issues and calls for global condemnation of Israel’s actions.
New Delhi: Israel is trying to increase its footprint in the West Bank according to United Nation’s report. Israel’s security cabinet has signed a plan to formalise 19 illegal settlements across the occupied West Bank. Palestinian officials have criticised the move as it will deepen the fissures between the people living there. The Israeli press outlet Ynet claimed the plan “was coordinated with the US in advance.”
Interview with Palestinian Ambassador
In an exclusive interview with Dynamite news, His Excellency Abdullah Abu Shawesh, Ambassador of Palestine in Delhi said that the condition in West Bank and Gaza was deplorable as Israel has surrounded the barricaded the entire area. Israel has demolished, seized or sealed many homes, leaving many Palestinians without shelter across the occupied territory.
Funding and Administrative Challenges
All the funds and taxes are collected by Israel. It is very hard to run Palestinian organisations. H. E. Abdullah Abu Shawesh, Ambassador of Palestine in India said, “Even we are finding it hard to run the embassy as were do not have sufficient funding.”
Humanitarian Crisis
He further said that Palestinians are living in miserable condition as they do not have any source of earning. They are fully dependent on UN Aid. More than 600 trucks of aid are required every day. Israel is just allowing around 100 which is insufficient and forces people to live with coping mechanism.
Call for International Criticism
H. E. Abdullah Abu Shawesh said that Israel should be criticised for genocide in Palestine by international community.
