New Delhi: CCTV camera footage and witness accounts have revealed a violent attack in the occupied West Bank, where dozens of masked men wielding sticks attacked a plant nursery and severely beat an elderly Palestinian man.

The incident occurred on Thursday in the village of Deir Sharaf in the northern West Bank. The victim has been identified as 67-year-old Basim Saleh Yassin.

Attack video surfaces

Video footage obtained by The Associated Press shows a group of men, mostly dressed in black and with their faces covered, entering the nursery. Yassin is seen trying to flee the group before falling to the ground.

While Yassin is on the ground, the attackers are seen kicking and repeatedly striking him with sticks. At one point, Yassin tries to get up on his hands and knees, only to be kicked in the head and beaten until he collapses on the pavement.

The nursery owner said that when the attackers approached, other workers fled the scene. However, Yassin, who is deaf, did not hear his colleagues' warnings to escape.

Attackers suspected of being from Israel

Witnesses, speaking on condition of anonymity, identified the attackers as Israeli settlers. They confirmed that Yassin is currently hospitalized with broken bones in his hand and multiple injuries to his face, chest, and back.

In addition to the attack, the assailants reportedly burned and destroyed four cars. This is the third time the nursery has been targeted in the past year.

The previous attack in September resulted in approximately $600,000 in damage to the office and facilities. Israeli Prime Minister condemns violence

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described those responsible for the violence as "extremists" and instructed police to deal with anyone attempting to take the law into their own hands.
