The head of Kyiv 's military administration, Timur Tkachenko, said a large part of a nine-story residential building collapsed after being hit by a missile. Several people are feared to be trapped under the rubble, and rescue teams are working at the scene.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his sadness in a message on his official Telegram channel.
He said that Russia attacked with missiles and drones. The attack happened directly on a residential building. People are under the rubble.
All rescue teams are on the spot. Military official Tkachenko said 27 areas of Kiev were targeted. Most of the damage was in the Solominsky and Sviatoshinsky districts.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on X, "The Russians launched more than 300 drones and 8 missiles. We are doing everything possible to fully implement all the agreements for the protection of our people — to ensure that every contract serves the purpose of saving lives."

US President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. He said that if there is no progress toward peace by August 8, the US will impose strict sanctions and tariffs on Russia. At the same time, Western countries have accused Putin of deliberately slowing down peace talks in order to take more territory in Ukraine.
