Seven Arrested in Bangladesh Hindu Youth Lynching Case
Dhaka: A major operation has been launched in connection with the lynching of 27-year-old Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das in the Valuka area of Mymensingh district. The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested seven suspects from various locations. Chief Advisor of the interim government, Muhammad Yunus, said that the arrested individuals are being interrogated and a thorough investigation is underway.
Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus stated that a team from RAB-14 conducted a special operation to apprehend the suspects. The arrested individuals include: Mohammad Limon Sarkar (19), Mohammad Tareq Hossain, Mohammad Manik Mia (20), Irshad Ali (39), Nijum Uddin (20), Alamgir Hossain (38), and Mohammad Miraj Hossain Akon (46).

Yunus said that this incident is against humanity and social harmony. He assured that strict action would be taken against the culprits under the law and that justice would be served to the victim's family. The government made it clear that no form of communal violence would be tolerated.

The interim government of Bangladesh issued a statement saying that there is no place for such violence in the new Bangladesh. Dipu Chandra Das was lynched on Thursday on charges of alleged blasphemy. The mob then set his body on fire. The government appealed to all citizens to maintain peace and refrain from violence.
Interrogation of the arrested individuals is ongoing. The Yunus government assured that all the culprits would be brought to justice. Police and security agencies have also been placed on high alert to prevent any further violence or unrest.
