Islamabad: Floods and rain are causing a major disaster in Pakistan. In addition to causing extensive damage the floods are thought to have killed over 1000 people. The situation is of great concern according to Ikhtiar Wali Khan the Information Coordinator for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) affairs. He claimed that the recent unexpected floods in KP province may have claimed the lives of close to 1000 people.

Wali Khan saw extensive damage when he personally visited the flood-affected areas. He talked about how entire villages were destroyed. There was significant damage in Buners Chagharzi neighborhood. The village of Bashoni is no longer visible on the map.'

In Pakistans flood-affected areas rescue and relief efforts are still ongoing and the situation is still dire. One of the worst natural disasters to hit the nation in recent memory is currently plaguing it.
