Israel Confirms Strikes on Tehran Fuel Storage Sites
Tehran: Amid ongoing tensions in West Asia, news of a major attack has emerged in Iran's capital, Tehran. Reports indicate that the US and Israel have targeted several fuel storage facilities in Tehran. The Israeli military confirmed the attacks, stating that several fuel storage facilities in Tehran were hit. Following the attacks, flames and thick smoke were visible in many parts of the capital, creating an atmosphere of panic in the city.
According to Iranian state media, a major oil storage facility in southern Tehran was attacked. News agency reported that the oil depot was the target. However, some reports also stated that key facilities at the nearby main refinery were not significantly damaged. The Israeli military stated that the fuel storage facilities were being used to operate Iran's military infrastructure.
Heavy smoke engulfed Tehran and its surrounding areas after the attacks. Many residents reported a strong burning smell throughout the area. Several videos surfaced on social media showing high flames in the sky. Some videos showed the sky glowing red even at night. However, no casualties have been officially confirmed yet.
People in Karaj, in Alborz province, near Tehran, also heard loud explosions. A local resident reported seeing a bright red light in the sky, followed by flames that spread throughout the area. Many reported that the explosions were so loud that people rushed out of their homes. A young man said that after the explosions, it felt as if night had suddenly turned into day.

Iran's national oil company said that some fuel depots in Tehran and Alborz province were attacked. However, the company claims that fuel supplies to both provinces are being maintained through other sources. According to local reports, fuel depots in three different areas, including Karaj, western part of the capital, were also targeted. State TV also reported that a refinery south of Tehran caught fire after the attack.
