RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s Big Message To Muslims (Img: X)
New Delhi: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, during his visit to New York, said the Indian diaspora should remain committed to their “karma bhumi” while carrying the values of their “janma bhumi”. Addressing gatherings in the US, Bhagwat spoke about India’s unity in diversity, global responsibility and the message of coexistence.
Speaking at the Universal Oneness Celebration at Madison Square Garden, Bhagwat said Indians living abroad must first fulfil their responsibilities towards the country where they live and work.
He said that people residing in America, earning in America and contributing to its society are Americans and should remain loyal to their country of residence.
According to Bhagwat, the values and culture received from one’s birthplace should continue to guide individuals, but responsibilities towards the present country must come first.
The RSS chief highlighted India’s unique identity, saying that diversity and unity have always been part of Bharat’s character.
Invoking Swami Vivekananda, Bhagwat said nations are not only geographical boundaries but also carry a larger purpose and destiny. He added that India can show the world how different communities can coexist while maintaining unity.
During another event in New York, Bhagwat addressed questions regarding Muslims and the concept of Hindutva.
He said that if any Hindu believes there should be no Muslims in Bharat, then such thinking does not represent Hindutva. He added that India’s tradition has been to provide shelter and acceptance to those seeking safety.
“Muslim brothers asked me a question: You are a Hindu organisation, you see Hindu Rashtra, what about us Muslims? Would you drive us out? I said, no, that is not Hindutva. If any Hindu thinks that there should be no Muslim in Bharat, he will not remain Hindu.” He said the organisation believes it is its duty to tell people across the world that, despite differences, "we are one".
Bhagwat said the RSS believes in the idea of one humanity and works without discrimination to serve people in need.
Bhagwat arrived in the United States as part of the RSS centenary-year global outreach programme. During his visit, he participated in events focused on culture, faith and the message of universal unity.
