New Delhi: The U.S. military has clarified that, for the time being, no preparations are underway to attack or occupy Cuba. Francis Donovan stated before the U.S. Congress that the military is not rehearsing for any form of "invasion."
Nevertheless, the U.S. remains fully vigilant. Should the situation in Cuba deteriorate, the U.S. is prepared to take action to safeguard its embassy, its citizens, and its military base located at Guantanamo Bay. Additionally, preparations are in place to handle a potential scenario involving mass migration, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
U.S. President Donald Trump recently stated that he could take control of Cuba "in any form." This statement has further heightened tensions. However, thus far, the U.S. has opted to exert economic pressure rather than resort to military action.
While intensifying economic pressure on Cuba, the U.S. has succeeded in cutting off oil supplies flowing from Venezuela. This has exacerbated the electricity crisis in Cuba, recently plunging the entire nation into darkness. Economic conditions, too, are deteriorating rapidly.
