Rising Death Toll in Russia-Ukraine War and Trump's Concerns
New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has issued a grave warning regarding the Russia-Ukraine war. During a press briefing at the White House, he stated that approximately 25,000 people, mostly soldiers, have died in the conflict in the past month.
Expressing his sorrow over the violence, Trump warned that if the conflict continues, it could escalate into a third world war.
He emphasized, "As long as all sides continue to play these games, we could ultimately find ourselves in a third world war, and we don't want to see that." He also stressed the need for an immediate end to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
White House Press Secretary Carolyn Leavitt stated that Trump is deeply frustrated with both sides of the conflict. He is tired of mere formal meetings and discussions and wants to see real action. Leavitt said, "The President wants the war to end, and the Trump administration is actively involved in peace efforts."

Trump held discussions with European leaders on December 10, 2025, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and his team continue to engage in direct talks with both Russia and Ukraine. Their goal is to end the war and restore stability in the region.
Trump also stated that the US is prepared to provide aid to Ukraine if the war can be ended under a security agreement. However, he expressed disappointment that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has not readily agreed to the American peace plan, which has increased pressure on Kyiv.
Donald Trump has warned of the escalating dangers of the Russia-Ukraine war and called for intensified international efforts to prevent it from spiraling into a third world war. A peaceful resolution to the conflict and concrete action remain a priority for the Trump administration.
