Tehran confirms death of top intelligence chief Majid Khademi
Tehran: The head of the Intelligence Organisation of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran Majid Khademi has been killed in a strike by the US and Israel today.
The Iranian media made the announcement and described Khademi’s death as the result of a “criminal terrorist attack by the American-Zionist enemy” at dawn. No further details were provided regarding the circumstances of the attack.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that the killing of Majid Khademi, along with strikes targeting Iran’s Unit 840- a wing of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force is expected to weaken Tehran’s ability to carry out operations abroad. The IDF also claimed the losses could limit the regime’s capacity to suppress domestic protests in the future.
Khademi had been serving as the IRGC’s intelligence chief since June 2025, taking over after his predecessor was killed in Israeli strikes during Operation Rising Lion.
