New Delhi: A shocking incident has occurred in the United States. US officials say a 28-year-old Indian national allegedly attacked two teenagers with a fork and slapped a fellow passenger on a flight from Chicago to Germany.

A statement issued by the Attorney General's Office stated that the incident occurred on Saturday on a Lufthansa flight that was forced to divert to Boston Logan International Airport after a disturbance. According to reports, Praneeth Kumar Usiripally allegedly struck a 17-year-old passenger on the shoulder with a metal fork and then struck another 17-year-old male passenger on the back of the head with the same fork, injuring the other passenger's head.

The Indian man was arrested on October 25 and will be arraigned in federal court in Boston. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.

According to documents released by US authorities, the Indian youth carried out the attack while food was being served on the flight. The documents allege that when attempts were made to stop Usiripally, he formed a gun with his fingers, put it in his mouth, and pulled an imaginary trigger. He then slapped a female passenger and attempted to slap a flight crew member.
