Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that Tehran’s purpose behind its visit to New York was to promote peace and diplomacy, not to encourage conflict. His remarks came during the United Nations General Assembly session amid ongoing international concerns over tensions involving Iran and other global powers.
Speaking about Iran’s diplomatic approach, Araghchi said the country’s leadership travelled to New York with the intention of finding ways to reduce tensions and support dialogue.

“We did not come to New York to sell a war. We came to forge peace,” Araghchi said, highlighting Tehran’s stated focus on diplomatic engagement.

Araghchi’s remarks came at a time when relations between Iran and the United States remain strained over several issues, including regional security concerns and nuclear-related matters.
