Later, Xi returned to his hotel room to rest and skipped the gala dinner hosted by Prime Minister Modi for BRICS leaders.

Chinese President XI Jingping Leaves Delhi after Summit

New Delhi: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday left New Delhi after participating in the two-day BRICS Summit chaired by India. Xi attended the BRICS sessions held at Bharat Mandapam, the venue of the summit.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping also held a bilateral meeting, strengthening engagement between the two neighbouring countries. During the meeting, Xi said that China and India should view their bilateral ties from a strategic perspective while keeping the long-term development of relations in mind.

Xi Calls For Greater BRICS Cooperation

Before leaving India, Xi said that the “Greater BRICS” nations should further strengthen cooperation, maintain the stability of industrial and supply chains, and develop an integrated market.

Xi arrived at Palam Airport on Saturday around noon and later attended the BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam. Following the summit proceedings, Xi held a 50-minute bilateral discussion with Prime Minister Modi along with officials.

Large Chinese Delegation Accompanied Xi

The Chinese President later returned to his hotel room to rest and did not attend the gala dinner hosted by Prime Minister Modi for BRICS delegates.

The Chinese delegation accompanying Xi was reportedly one of the largest, with the number of members crossing 400.
