Amarnath Yatra 2025: Final preparations underway with enhanced security measures

Srinagar: Amarnath Yatra is schedule to start on 3 July. There are only two more days left for Baba Barfani Darshan. The Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister are putting their all efforts to ensure that the pilgrims reach the holy cave and have a smooth Darshan of Baba Amarnath, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Ministers and officials are reaching every day to take stock of the security and facilities on both the Yatra routes Pahalgam and Baltal so that the pilgrims do not face any problem.

Helicopter Service Stopped

It is being monitored that there is not even the slightest deficiency in the arrangements. For the first time, helicopter service has been stopped as a precaution from the security point of view.

Amarnath Yatra is starting from July 3, which will end on August 9 on the day of Raksha Bandhan. LG Manoj Sinha has personally inspected the base camps on the Pahalgam and Baltal route thrice in the last one week. He visited Nunwan and Chandanbari base camps in Anantnag on Sunday. Chief Minister is stationed in Srinagar, personally monitoring the preparations.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is camped in Srinagar till the start of the pilgrimage. On his instructions, every day some minister or the other of the state government and top officials are reaching to take stock of the facilities on both the routes.

Army Chief has reviewed the security arrangements. In view of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the central government is also very cautious about the security of the devotees reaching to visit Baba Barfani.

During this time, to save the pilgrims from any natural calamity, the Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Department also organized a mock drill in Pahalgam. In this exercise, the method of avoiding disasters like glacier burst flood (GLOF) was shown.
