Srinagar: After the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, 48 places in the valley were closed. Now after security review in Jammu and Kashmir, 16 tourist places were reopened. The places that opened include Badamwari Park, Nigin Dak Park and Hazratbal Takdir Park in Srinagar; Verinag, Kokernag and Achhabal in Anantnag; and parks in Betaab Valley and local market in Pahalgam.
Tourists thronged Badamwari Park and Betaab Valley even before they opened. Mohammad Abid, who came from Delhi, said, “There was no problem in roaming here, the situation in Kashmir is normal.” A search operation was carried out with drones in Betaab Valley and tight security was deployed.
Sula Park Regains Its Charm
Sula Park, which was closed after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, was officially opened on Tuesday. The park, located on the Katra road, saw a crowd of people on the first day of opening, while in the past days the movement of local people was limited. Pilgrims going from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Shri Shivkhori Dham enjoyed the natural beauty in the park during their stopover in Sula. A large number of children and elderly people got relief from the heat in the two cold water swimming pools.
Demand To Reopen Gurez Valley
Local businessmen are upset due to the closure of Gurez Valley, a famous tourist destination of Kashmir, for tourists. Tourism has come to a standstill due to the ban, due to which hotel owners and people associated with the tourism sector are suffering huge losses. Entrepreneurs who have invested lakhs of rupees have requested the administration to reopen the area immediately.
Panchari Waiting For Tourists
After the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, the closed tourist places of the state have been reopened, which also includes Panchari tehsil of Udhampur district. Panchari, situated in beautiful valleys, is famous for its pleasant weather. Facilities like huts, camping and home stays have been developed by the government for tourists here. Especially Sankari Dev place, situated at a very high altitude, is the main center of faith for the local people, where people from different parts of the state come to pay obeisance.
