J&K: Voting 4 Rajya Sabha seats underway; Counting at 5 pm today

The rulling National Conference (NC) will comfortably win three seats, but all are waiting eagerly for the results of the fourth seat, where the NC and BJP have 28 votes each.

Srinagar: Polling for four Rajya Sabha seats elections is underway today on Friday in at the J&K Legislative Assembly complex. Rajya Sabha elections are taking place for the first since the abrogation of Article 370, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

The voting started at 9 in the morning and will continue till 4 pm followed by counting of votes at 5.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was the first MLA to cast his vote. The rulling National Conference (NC) will comfortably win three seats, but all are waiting eagerly for the results of the fourth seat, where the NC and BJP have 28 votes each. However its hard for BJP to win the seat unless political parties or independent MLAs cross-vote.
