Panaji: A Goa-Delhi IndiGo flight made an emergency landing at Goa airport on Tuesday morning after a technical issue was detected in one of its engines. The aircraft, carrying 229 passengers, returned safely to Manohar International Airport following an emergency alert.
According to initial reports, IndiGo flight 6E 2102 took off from Goa’s Manohar International Airport at around 9:16 am. Shortly after departure, an emergency was declared at around 9:25 am after a reported engine-related problem.
The aircraft returned to Goa and landed safely at approximately 9:50 am. Airport authorities activated emergency protocols as a precautionary measure.
IndiGo confirmed that the flight landed safely after a technical issue was detected. The aircraft has been taken for maintenance checks and will resume operations only after completing all necessary inspections and receiving required clearances.
The airline said it regretted the inconvenience caused to passengers and arranged refreshments along with regular updates during the delay.
IndiGo said alternative travel arrangements were being made to help passengers reach their destination in Delhi.
The incident comes amid increased focus on aviation safety, with airlines and airport authorities following strict procedures whenever technical issues are reported during flight operations.
No injuries were reported among passengers or crew members onboard the flight.
