46°C In Delhi? IMD Forecast Signals Intense Heatwave Ahead

Delhi residents may face an intense heatwave this week as temperatures are expected to rise sharply from 37°C on Sunday to nearly 46°C by midweek. Hot winds and dry conditions could make outdoor activities difficult.

New Delhi: Delhi is expected to experience extremely hot weather conditions over the coming week, with temperatures forecast to rise steadily across the national capital. According to the latest weather update, the minimum temperature on Sunday is likely to remain around 27 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature may touch 37 degrees Celsius.

Weather data suggests that wind speeds are expected to remain moderate at around 3.49 kmph, with gusts reaching nearly 5.48 kmph. The wind direction is predicted to move around 143 degrees. Meanwhile, the sun rose at 5:33 AM and is expected to set at 7:01 PM on Sunday.

Mercury May Touch 46 Degrees Celsius

The seven-day forecast indicates a sharp increase in daytime temperatures from Monday onward. Delhi may record nearly 43 degrees Celsius on Monday, followed by 45 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. The temperature is expected to peak at around 46 degrees Celsius between Wednesday and Friday before slightly dipping to 45 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

Residents Advised To Take Precautions

With extreme heat likely to continue throughout the week, residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid direct sun exposure during peak afternoon hours. Authorities may also issue heat-related advisories if temperatures continue to climb.
