Mehraj Malik's arrest case

AAP's Jammu and Kashmir unit president, Mehraj Malik, was detained by the police on September 8. He is accused of disturbing public peace and disturbing public order. He was arrested under the stringent law Public Safety Act (PSA) and sent to Kathua District Jail.

The AAP party says that this arrest has been made completely out of political malice, and through this, an attempt is being made to suppress the voice of democracy.

House arrest of Sanjay Singh and Imran Hussain

Sanjay Singh and Imran Hussain, who had come to hold a press conference against the arrest of Mehraj Malik, were put under house arrest in a government guest house in Srinagar. The police locked the gate of the guest house and increased security outside.

Sanjay Singh shared a video on the social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter) and said: "It is our right to ask questions in a democracy. Putting us under house arrest is dictatorship."

Meeting with Farooq Abdullah also stopped

When National Conference leader and former Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah reached the guest house to meet Sanjay Singh, he was also not allowed to go inside. Sanjay Singh climbed the gate and spoke to Farooq Abdullah. He called it a violation of democratic values.

AAP's allegation: Democracy is being strangled

The AAP party said that democratic activities are being suppressed in Jammu and Kashmir. Sanjay Singh said, "This is the extreme limit of dictatorship. It is our constitutional right to protest and ask questions. The government is afraid of this."

The Aam Aadmi Party is accusing the central government and the Jammu and Kashmir administration of a dictatorial attitude regarding the arrest of Mehraj Malik and the house arrest of Sanjay Singh. At the same time, the police say that this action has been taken to maintain law and order.

This matter is now gaining momentum in national politics, and there may be more debate on it in the coming days.
