New Delhi: The Gautam Adani-led Adani Group has entered into a strategic partnership with Brazilian aerospace major Embraer to establish a regional transport aircraft manufacturing venture in India, marking Adani Defence’s foray into commercial aviation manufacturing.

The collaboration aims to strengthen India’s presence in the global aircraft manufacturing ecosystem through local assembly, component production, and supply-chain development.

The move comes shortly after the Adani Group-led Navi Mumbai International Airport commenced commercial operations last month.

Boost to India’s Aviation Manufacturing Ecosystem

Announcing the partnership, Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airport Holdings, described the development as a landmark moment for Indian aviation.

“We are proud to partner with Embraer, one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers. Together, we will establish a regional aircraft manufacturing facility in India and build a unique aviation ecosystem that has the potential to redefine the country’s aviation future,” he said.

He added that the partnership goes beyond commercial objectives and reflects India’s ambition to develop world-class aerospace capabilities domestically, in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.

MoU Signed, Financial Details Undisclosed

According to a Reuters report, the two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore cooperation across aircraft manufacturing, supply chains, and pilot training. However, the financial terms of the agreement have not been made public.

Emphasising India’s importance, Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, said India represents a key growth market for the company.

He noted that the partnership combines Embraer’s aerospace expertise with Adani Group’s industrial and infrastructure capabilities.
