Delhi Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the five-day AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan. Certain roads, including Bhairon Marg and Mathura Road, will be restricted during VVIP movements.
Delhi to See Traffic Diversions During Five-Day AI Event
New Delhi: The Delhi Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory in view of the AI Impact Summit to be held in the national capital. This five-day international event will be held from February 16th to 20th at the Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan. Heads of state, heads of government, ministers, senior representatives, and leaders of major international organizations are expected to participate in the event.
The Delhi Police have stated that traffic will be controlled in the New Delhi district and surrounding areas due to this high-level event. The police also clarified that this step has been taken keeping in mind public safety and convenience.

The advisory states that special traffic arrangements will be implemented to ensure smooth movement of all types of vehicles. "Essential services, such as medical emergency vehicles, will be given priority and will be provided uninterrupted passage. Alternative routes and transportation options will be available for the general public," the police said.
Certain areas on VVIP routes have been marked as restricted zones. These include:
Bhairon Marg (except Ring Road T-Point)
Mathura Road (from Subramaniam Bharti Marg T-Point to Dr. Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk)
Police clarified that entry of general vehicles will be prohibited on these routes during VVIP movement.
Vehicles not entering Delhi will be diverted to the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways and other designated alternative routes. Passengers traveling to the airport and railway station will be ensured, but the police have requested passengers to consider additional travel time and alternative routes.
Motorists have also been advised to travel to the airport using metro services. Additionally, buses may be diverted to alternative routes during VVIP movement.
