New Delhi: The government has extended the India AI Impact Summit 2026 by an additional day following an overwhelming public response. Originally scheduled to conclude on February 20, the summit will now remain open until February 21 at Bharat Mandapam.

Expo timings have also been extended from 6 PM to 8 PM IST to ensure smoother movement and a better experience for visitors. Officials cited heavy footfall and growing public enthusiasm around artificial intelligence as key reasons behind the decision.

Public Visiting Hours And Access Details

The Expo will remain closed to the general public on February 19 due to high-level sessions and security arrangements. However, it will be fully open on February 20 and 21.

Delegates will need to vacate the convention area by 4:30 PM on select days due to scheduled VIP engagements. Entry and exit have been streamlined, with designated gates for vehicles and Metro commuters. Authorities have also cautioned about possible traffic restrictions around the ITPO area during evening hours.

Massive Youth Participation

Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed that more than 3 lakh people registered for the summit, with around 2.5 lakh attendees visiting so far most of them under the age of 30. He said the turnout reflects the country’s growing curiosity and confidence in AI-led innovation.

The summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 16 and has drawn participation from delegates across 110 countries, including global technology leaders.

Guinness World Record Achievement

In a major milestone, the summit entered the Guinness World Records for receiving 2,50,946 student pledges for responsible AI use within 24 hours far exceeding the 5,000-target mark. Officials described it as a testament to India’s youth-driven AI movement.
Registration Temporarily Closed

Due to overwhelming demand and limited on-site capacity, registrations have been temporarily closed. The summit continues to focus on its “Three Sutras” People, Planet, and Progress promoting human-centric and responsible AI innovation.
