
Air India flight briefly enters Pak airspace (Img-Internet)
New Delhi: An Air India flight operating from Delhi to Amritsar briefly entered Pakistani airspace while performing a go-around manoeuvre at Amritsar airport on Monday, the airline said.
The incident involved flight AI479, which was approaching Amritsar when the crew initiated a go-around. During the manoeuvre, the aircraft marginally crossed into Pakistani airspace, according to Air India.
The airline said the matter has been reported to the regulatory authorities and an internal investigation is underway.
“The crew operating flight AI479 from Delhi to Amritsar on 22 June had marginally infringed into Pakistan airspace while manoeuvring a go-around at Amritsar airport. The incident has been reported to the regulatory authorities and is being investigated internally,” Air India said in a statement.
Air India stressed that passenger and crew safety remains its highest priority. No safety issue has been reported in connection with the incident.
