Air India, IndiGo cancel or reschedule Dubai & Abu Dhabi Flights; Check update here

New Delhi: Air travel between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently experienced difficulties. Major airlines like Air India and IndiGo have warned passengers that the deteriorating situation in West Asia has led to flight cancellations and rescheduling. Many flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been canceled or rescheduled. Passengers are advised to confirm their flight status before traveling to the airport.

IndiGo Issues Notice

IndiGo reported that additional restrictions have been imposed on flight operations in Dubai. The airline posted on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "Due to the deteriorating situation in the Middle East, further restrictions have been imposed on flight operations in Dubai, resulting in changes to flight schedules. Passengers traveling to or from Dubai should please check their flight status before traveling to the airport. We are also sending customers notifications with the latest updates."

Air India Also Adjusted Services

Air India also announced changes to its flights following directives from UAE airport authorities. Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express reduced several scheduled flights on March 15.

According to Air India, only one return flight operated on the Delhi-Dubai route, while four of five scheduled services were cancelled. Air India Express also operated only one return flight on the Delhi-Dubai route and cancelled five of six scheduled flights.

Impact on flights to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah

Air India Express further stated that all five flights to Abu Dhabi were cancelled. However, flights from Sharjah continued as planned. These flights are scheduled to operate to Delhi, Kannur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mumbai, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Passenger Warnings

Airlines have advised passengers to confirm their flight status before heading to the airport. Experts say that the ongoing tensions in the Middle East may temporarily impact air traffic, so passengers should pay attention to regular updates to ensure a safe and smooth journey.
