Ahmedabad: An Air India flight going from Ahmedabad to London crashed immediately after taking off on Thursday, 12 June 2025. According to an Associated Press report, all 242 people aboard the aircraft have died in the accident. The accident was so severe that no one was likely to survive, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
No one survived
Police Commissioner GS Malik said that initial information seems to indicate that no person is left alive in the accident. Since the aircraft fell in the residential area, some local people there must have been victims of this accident.

Flight operations resumed at the airport
After the accident, some flights from Ahmedabad Airport have been resumed. Army teams immediately reached the spot for relief and rescue operations.
DNA check for identification of dead bodies
The Gujarat government has appealed to the relatives to give DNA samples to identify the dead. The accident was so frightening that it is not possible to identify many bodies.
A DNA test has been arranged at BJ Medical College, and the families of the passengers have been requested to submit their samples as soon as possible.
Local people were also injured
Several local residents have also been injured due to the accident. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel reached Asarwa Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad and met the injured there.
According to Dhananjay Dwivedi, Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, about 50 injured are being treated in the civil hospital.
Rescue operations still continue
NDRF, the army, and other agencies are engaged in relief and rescue operations on the spot. The army team also includes medical staff and experts.
The prime minister gave instructions
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu about this accident and instructed him to ensure all the necessary help immediately. All agencies of Ahmedabad have been kept on high alert.
Information from eyewitnesses
The witnesses reported that as soon as the aircraft flew, it suddenly started falling down and fell on the residential complex of the doctors of the BJ Medical College, causing heavy losses there.
