Amarnath Yatra 2025 begins
Jammu: The first batch for the Amarnath Yatra has left from Jammu today. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the yatra from Bhagwati Nagar base camp.
The pilgrims will reach the Kashmir Valley in the afternoon. However, the yatra will officially begin from tomorrow.
The 38-day long yatra will take place from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes.
Security has been beefed up on the entire route including the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44).
The yatra will conclude on August 9 on the day of Rakshabandhan.
Last year the yatra lasted for 52 days and 5 lakh devotees visited the holy cave. So far, more than 3.5 lakh pilgrims have registered for the Amarnath Yatra.
For immediate registration, centers have been opened in Saraswati Dham, Vaishnavi Dham, Panchayat Bhawan and Mahajan Sabha in Jammu.
No threat can shake the faith of devotees: LG
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who participated in the 'Tawi Aarti' at the Tawi Riverfront in Jammu, said on Tuesday that the eyes of the whole world are on the Amarnath Yatra today, and no threat can shake the faith of the devotees. LG Sinha claimed that this year's Amarnath Yatra will be more historic than all the previous years and for him it is an opportunity to restore the ancient glory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Lieutenant Governor said, "For me, the responsibility of Jammu and Kashmir is not just an administrative responsibility, it is an opportunity to restore the lost image of the holy land. I have tried to give it a grand look like a holy temple." He further said that after 2019, Jammu and Kashmir has come out of darkness and stepped towards new heights of respect, pride and spirituality.
Manoj Sinha said about the Amarnath Yatra, "The eyes of the world are on this Yatra. The resolve of the devotees is firm, no threat or danger can shake their faith." He said that the whole of Jammu and Kashmir is ready to welcome the devotees of Baba Barfani, and this Yatra will be full of spiritual energy. He also wished that Lord Shiva gives health, happiness and peace to everyone.
