New Delhi: Registration for the Amarnath Yatra 2026 commenced on April 15. Immense enthusiasm is being witnessed among devotees across the country. In many locations, people have been queuing up since early morning to complete their registration.

Online and Offline Options

To simplify the registration process this year, both online and offline methods have been made available. Offline registration is being conducted through 556 bank branches nationwide, with Punjab National Bank playing a leading role. Additionally, branches of the State Bank of India, Yes Bank, and Jammu and Kashmir Bank are also participating.

Duration and Routes of the Yatra

This sacred pilgrimage will start from July 3 and conclude on August 28, spanning a total duration of 57 days. Devotees can undertake the journey via two main routes:

  • The traditional 48-km route via Pahalgam
  • The shorter yet more arduous 14-km route via Baltal

Devotees reach the holy cave by traversing either of these two routes.

Overwhelming Enthusiasm Among Devotees

Large crowds were observed at registration centers in several cities, including Jammu. Devotees have been standing in queues since the early hours of the morning, eager to complete their registration as quickly as possible. Many individuals participate in this pilgrimage every year and consider it an integral part of their lives.

Improvements in Security and Facilities

According to officials, the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir has improved significantly compared to previous times. Consequently, an increase in the number of pilgrims is anticipated this year. Banks and the administration are working in tandem to further streamline the registration process.
