The Maharashtra government had recently said in an order that Hindi will now be taught as the third language along with Marathi and English in government primary schools in the state. To keep the situation under control, the state government has withdrawn this decision for the time being and formed a committee to review the three-language policy. However, the controversy has not completely subsided yet.
