CM Yogi condemns youth Congress youth workers for shirtless protest
New Delhi: UP CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday criticised the alleged Youth Congress workers for staging a shirtless protest during the ongoing AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Calling the incident “shameful,” he said an attempt was made to disrupt a prestigious international event and damage India’s reputation.
Addressing the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, the Chief Minister stated that while the world was watching India’s technological progress, the opposition chose to create chaos instead of supporting national efforts.

Rajnath Singh also condemned the protest, describing it as inappropriate and regrettable. He said the demonstration took place at a time when India was showcasing its leadership in artificial intelligence and innovation.
According to Singh, disrupting a global summit attended by international stakeholders reflects poorly on the country and undermines efforts to project India as a responsible technology partner on the world stage.
Speaking during the budget discussion in the Assembly, Yogi Adityanath also highlighted what he described as Uttar Pradesh’s steady economic progress. He noted that per capita income in the state has increased significantly in recent years and claimed that the state has moved from being among the lower-ranked economies to one of the top-performing ones.
The Chief Minister said the government had waived farm loans of up to ₹1 lakh for approximately 8.6 million farmers, calling it a major relief measure for the agricultural sector.

During his address, Yogi took a light-hearted swipe at opposition leaders while defending his government’s record. He asserted that the current administration has set ambitious goals and improved the state’s financial credibility.
He also remarked that for the first time in Uttar Pradesh’s history, a Chief Minister has presented the budget ten times, describing it as a sign of political stability and governance continuity.
The protest at the AI Summit has since triggered a broader political confrontation between the ruling party and the Congress, with both sides trading sharp remarks over the incident.
