Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Donation Theft: Pramod Nautiyal Admits His Role
Pramod Nautiyal has accepted that he was involved in the donation theft at the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple. He was removed from the temple trust on July 2, and police arrested him on 7 July
New Delhi: Pramod Nautiyal, who was suspended from the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) on allegations of donation theft, has admitted his role in donation theft at the temple. The SIT formed by Uttarakhand Police said that on Friday, July 31, Nautiyal confessed to the crime, but custodial confessions are not leagally admissible as evidence in a court.
As per police officials, Silver coins, Nepalese currency, ornaments, and cash were recovered during the search operation conducted while Nautiyal, who served as the personal assistant to the BKTC chairman, was in police custody.
Uttarakhand police arrested Nautiyal on 12th July, whereas he was suspended on 7th July based on a preliminary report by a committee formed by BKTC on 2nd July.
