Baloch leader declares independence from Pakistan
New Delhi: In the middle of rising tensions between India and Pakistan, a known Baloch writer, Miryar Balo, has claimed Balochistan's independence from Pakistan, reports Dynamite News correspondent. He has called on the Indian government to allow the opening of a Baloch embassy in New Delhi.
Miryar Balo, known for advocating for the Baloch people, made announcements in a series of posts on social media platform X. He urged the United Nations to send peacekeeping forces to Balochistan and demanded that the Pakistani army leave the region.
He also urged Indian citizens, especially media, YouTubers, and intellectuals, to avoid calling Balochs "Pakistan's own people."
Mir Yar Baloch also expressed full support for India's stand on Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK). He urged the international community to pressure Pakistan to vacate the region.
According to the announcement, preparations are underway to establish a transitional government for the proposed new nation. They also promised representation for Baloch women in the future government.
Baloch also added that the state ceremony of the independent government of Balochistan will take place soon. He invited the heads of state of friendly countries to witness the national parade and bless them as well.
The Republic of Balochistan has its own flag, its own parliament, its capital, Quetta, an official emblem, and a national anthem as well.
Not only that, Balochistan has a visa-on-arrival policy for Indians. The people of Balochistan demand an independent democratic state and control over resources, cultural preservation, and self-governance.
Now, Baloch rights group PAANK has flagged a shocking seven enforced disappearances carried out by Pakistani security forces in Balochistan between the 25th of April and May 12th.
PANK has expressed grave concerns over the continued practice of enforced disappearances in Balochistan as a means of suppression and intimidation.
At a time when we have seen Indian and Pakistani forces exchange fire, Pakistan is facing the heat of Indian attacks across the Line of Control and the international border area, and even deep inside Pakistan.
During this action, the Balochistan people also say that they have been facing this for many years — so that should be ended. They claim that they are not Pakistani. Balochistan is not Pakistan, but Balochistan is an independent country.
There are a number of other countries involved. China is very interested in Balochistan because the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is there.
Gwadar Port is there. What will happen to that? China has a large number of forces there — scientists, workers, and many others. So, will Balochistan cooperate with China or not?
Now, their equation with China makes a lot of difference. If China feels it is safe under Balochistan, the equation will change. If China feels that Balochistan has just come up forcibly, then they will support Pakistan.
So it all depends now on how seriously China takes the independence of Balochistan. Because China has a large amount of money, manpower, and interest in that area.
China’s interest lies there because it does not want America to come and gain access to the other side — Iran, the Central Asian Republics, and all the surrounding regions.
That is why China will not want America to come there — just like the British didn’t want Russia to come there. So this tussle will carry on.
India’s position has to be very clear. Indian foreign policy must declare its stance on Balochistan. Until and unless we hear from India, nothing is going to make sense.
