Banks to be closed for 21 days in October; In addition to 4 Sundays and 2 Saturdays

According to the RBI calendar, in addition to four Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays, banks will be closed for 15 days in different states.

According to the RBI calendar, in addition to four Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays, banks will be closed for 15 days in different states.

Bank Holiday List from Gandhi Jayanti to Diwali

  • Banks will be closed on October 1st for Navratri and Durga Puja in Kerala, Odisha, Tripura, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Jharkhand, and Meghalaya.
  • On October 2nd, there will be a nationwide bank holiday for Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra.
  • On October 3rd, banks will be closed in Sikkim for Durga Puja (Dasin).
  • On October 4th, banks will be closed in Sikkim for Durga Puja (Dasin).
  • On October 6th, banks will be closed in Tripura and West Bengal for Lakshmi Puja.
  • On October 7th, there will be a bank holiday in Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka, and Chandigarh for Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima.
  • On October 10th, banks will be closed in Himachal Pradesh for Karva Chauth.
  • On October 18th, banks will be closed in Assam for the Kati Bihu festival.
  • On October 20, banks will be closed in Tripura, Gujarat, Mizoram, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh (UT), Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Assam, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Nagaland, West Bengal, Delhi (NCT), Goa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh on account of Diwali, Narak Chaturdashi, and Kali Puja.
  • On October 21, banks will be closed in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Manipur, Jammu, and Srinagar on account of Diwali Amavasya (Lakshmi Puja), Deepawali, and Govardhan Puja.
  • On October 22, banks will be closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar on account of Diwali, Vikram Samvat New Year, Govardhan Puja, Balipadyami, and Lakshmi Puja (Diwali).
  • On October 23, banks will be closed in Gujarat, Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Himachal Pradesh for Bhai Dooj, Chitragupta Jayanti, Lakshmi Puja, Bhatri Dwitiya, and Ningol Chakkouba.
  • On October 27, banks will be closed in West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand for Chhath Puja (evening offering).
  • On October 28, banks will be closed in Bihar and Jharkhand for Chhath Puja (morning offering).
  • On October 31, banks will be closed in Gujarat for Sardar Patel Jayanti.
