Baramulla: Baramulla district has intensified preparations for the 80th Independence Day celebrations, with a grand full dress rehearsal conducted at Showkat Ali Stadium on Thursday. The rehearsal showcased the administration’s operational readiness, ceremonial precision and the patriotic enthusiasm that will define the district-level celebrations on August 15.

The event served as a comprehensive simulation of the main Independence Day programme, allowing authorities, security agencies and participating departments to evaluate coordination mechanisms, protocol compliance and logistical preparedness ahead of the national celebration.

Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Pranjal J. Hazarika, unfurled the National Flag during the ceremonial proceedings, following which the National Anthem was played, creating an atmosphere of patriotism and national pride at the stadium.

The flag-hoisting ceremony was followed by an impressive march-past presented by various participating contingents. The disciplined formations, synchronized movements and coordinated ceremonial display reflected the commitment, professionalism and preparedness of the participating teams.

Administration Reviews Security and Event Preparedness

The full dress rehearsal provided the district administration an opportunity to conduct a detailed assessment of arrangements required for the smooth execution of the Independence Day programme.

Officials reviewed multiple operational aspects, including venue management, security deployment, crowd regulation, traffic management, emergency response mechanisms and coordination between different government departments.

Security preparedness remained a key focus during the rehearsal, with authorities ensuring that all standard operating procedures are followed for maintaining a secure environment during the main event. Coordination among civil administration, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders was assessed to ensure seamless execution of the celebrations.

The rehearsal also enabled officials to identify potential challenges and implement corrective measures before the final Independence Day ceremony.

Tricolour Display Reflects National Pride

The unfurling of the Tricolour remained the centrepiece of the rehearsal, symbolising India’s journey of freedom, unity and constitutional values. As the National Anthem resonated across Showkat Ali Stadium, participants and officials joined in a collective expression of respect and pride for the nation.

The ceremony highlighted the deeper significance of Independence Day beyond official proceedings, representing the sacrifices of freedom fighters, the strength of democratic institutions and the shared responsibility of citizens towards nation-building.

Baramulla Ready for Grand Independence Day Event

With the successful completion of the full dress rehearsal, Baramulla administration has laid the groundwork for a dignified and well-coordinated Independence Day celebration. The final programme on August 15 will feature the ceremonial unfurling of the National Flag along with cultural performances and other patriotic activities.

Officials said all necessary arrangements are being finalised to ensure that citizens, guests and participants experience a smooth and memorable celebration.

As Jammu and Kashmir joins the rest of the country in marking the 80th Independence Day, Baramulla’s preparations reflect the region’s commitment to national unity, peace and democratic values.
