Bedlam In Parliament: Donation Theft Of Ram Temple And Demand For Amit Shah’s Statement Rocked Both Houses

New Delhi: Even as the Parliament entered the 3rd week of its sitting,the opposition intensified its attack on the government on Ram temple donation theft and police action on students, with both houses witnessed bedlam and having to be adjourned for Tuesday. The Opposition protest was witnessed  both inside the house as well as outside the parliament after it was adjourned.

However, in the din and bustle, the Lok Sabha passed the ordinance on an increase in the number of Supreme Court judges without debate, while the Rajya Sabha cleared the MSME bill. Even as the Opposition was in the well of the house and shouting for a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah on Police action on students, the government introduced two bills. Minister Rao Inderjit Singh introduced the Indian Statistical Institute Bill,2026, while Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitaram  tabled the Bankers' Books Evidence Bill, 2026.

Lok Sabha was adjourned soon after it was met for the day, with the Opposition rushing into the well of the House protesting over Ram temple Donation theft as well as demanding a statement from the Home Minister on the police action. Soon, the House was adjourned to 12 noon, and the same was repeated at 12 noon, and the House was adjourned for 2 pm.

When the Lok Sabha met after lunch, the Opposition was on its feet in the well of the House. But the government took up the ordinance bill on the increase of Supreme Court judges from 34 to 38. Law Minister Arjun ram Meghewal introduced and managed to pass it within 10 minutes without any discussion. And the House was adjourned for the day.

In the Rajya Sabha also, the leader of the opposition Mallikarjun Kharge was on his feet, shouting slogans, along with other party members. The House was adjourned to 2 pm. However, when the House met after lunch at 2 pm, the Deputy Chairman took up the MSME bill and started the debate. Despite the Oppositon protest and shouting on Tam temple theft and police action on students, with the main target on the Home Minister, the discussion continued with NDA members speaking on the bill , despite the Oppostion was protesting and sloganeering.

During the time when both houses were adjourned, the opposition MPs assembled outside the parliament and protested Ram Temple
donation theft and demanded the Home Minister's statement on students' lathicharge and use of pellet guns. The MPs protested in front of Makar Dwar of Parliament with slogans such as

'chanda chor , gaddi chor' and 'Amit Shah sadan mein aao."

The MPs also kept donation boxes at the spot to symbolise the alleged theft of donations at the Ram  Temple and lined up around them to raise slogans against the government. Some MPs also put cash in the box to symbolise the donations made and the "theft" that took place later.

Several MPs joined the protest outside the parliament. Among those included Priyanka Gandhi, SP's Dimple Yadav and Dharmendra Yadav, TMC's Mahua Moitra, JMM's Mahua Maji, RSP's NK Premchandran.
