Rudraprayag: Badri Kedar Temple Committee and Kedar Sabha have organised Bhagwat Katha for the peace of the souls of those who died in the 2013 tragedy in Kedarnath Dham, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
According to BKTC, the Katha will be organised from 25 July to 1 August. This event is being organised by Kedar Sabha and Badri-Kedar Temple Committee. A large number of people are expected to reach this event.
Kedar Sabha President Statement
According to the information, Kedar Sabha President Pandit Raj Kumar Tiwari said that Bhagwat Katha is being organised in Kedarnath Dham from 25 July to 1 August in the month of Shravan for the peace of the souls of those who died in the 2013 disaster.
He said that it is necessary to organise a Bhagwat Katha for the peace of the souls of those who died in the disaster. Also, he said that it is also important that everyone comes to Devbhoomi in search of peace; hence, Bhagwat is important.
Thousands Of People Died
It is worth mentioning that on 16-17 June 2013, tragedy occurred in Kedarnath in which thousands of people died. Some people are still searching for their loved ones, but they have not been found to date.
In 2013, devotees from every corner of India came to visit Lord Kedarnath, but on 16-17 June, a disaster occurred in Kedarnath which swept people away.
For the peace of the people, Kedar Sabha has organised Bhagwat Katha for their pious souls in July.
Kedar Sabha has appealed that those whose family members got lost in this disaster, got killed and could not be found till date, can join the Bhagwat Katha to be held in Kedarnath Dham for the peace of their souls or can send their photos. All arrangements for their stay and food will be made by Kedar Sabha.
Tragedy Remained In Mind
On 16 June 2013, the residents of Kedarnath in Uttarakhand had to face a devastating flood. This tragedy of flood will remain in the minds of people for centuries. Thousands of people lost their lives in this disaster. Many houses were destroyed. Both Kedarnath and its pilgrimage place were hit by this natural disaster; however, the temple did not suffer any damage even in the flood.
