Srinagar: A major scare was reported at Srinagar Airport after an IndiGo aircraft hit a metal pole while being positioned for parking on Friday morning. However, all passengers and crew members on board remained safe and no injuries were reported.

The incident took place around 9 am at Bay No. 6 of Srinagar Airport when the IndiGo flight, operating from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar, collided with the pole during the parking process.

Visuals from the spot showed the upright metal pole bent sideways after the aircraft came in contact with it.

Passengers Safely Evacuated

Following the incident, passengers and crew members were safely deboarded from the aircraft using manual aircraft stairs. Airport officials confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident.

Probe Ordered Into Incident

Authorities said the exact circumstances behind the incident will be examined as per standard aviation safety procedures. Officials have clarified that no conclusion regarding the cause will be drawn until the investigation is completed.

Airport Operations Continue Normally

Despite the incident, Srinagar Airport operations remained unaffected. Flight arrivals and departures continued as per schedule, with authorities assuring passengers that safety and security protocols were being followed.
