New Delhi: The delay in the declaration of CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation results has become a major concern for more than 1.6 lakh students, many of whom say the prolonged wait is affecting their college admission plans. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) closed the re-evaluation application process on June 7, but students are still awaiting the revised results.

The issue has also drawn the attention of the Supreme Court, which recently questioned CBSE over delays in announcing Class 12 improvement examination results. The court directed the board to formulate a clear and effective plan to address the situation. The matter came before the court through a petition filed by a student residing in Saudi Arabia, who claimed that the delay in receiving re-evaluation results was impacting admission opportunities.

Students Voice Frustration

Several students have taken to social media platform X to express their concerns, highlighting the uncertainty surrounding their academic future. Many candidates are worried that delayed results could affect admission deadlines, scholarship applications, and seat allotment processes at universities across India and abroad.

Experts Highlight Mental Stress

Education experts believe the delay is placing additional pressure on students already coping with competitive examinations and important career decisions.

Kshipra Pahwa Sethi, Headmistress of the Middle Wing at Silverline Prestige School, said the uncertainty surrounding re-evaluation results is causing significant emotional and psychological stress. According to her, students are unable to finalize college applications or make informed decisions about their academic future while awaiting revised scores.

She emphasized that examinations play a crucial role in assessing students' abilities and shaping their higher education pathways. Administrative delays, she noted, can create unnecessary obstacles during a critical transition period and may negatively impact students’ mental well-being.

Similarly, Ajitesh Basani, Executive Director of Acharya Bangalore B-School (ABBS), said re-evaluation results often influence admissions, scholarships, and other academic opportunities. While maintaining accuracy and fairness in the review process is important, he stressed that timely communication and faster resolution are essential to help students plan their next steps with confidence.
