Kanker: In a heartbreaking turn of events, three personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) lost their lives in an IED blast in Kanker on Saturday. The explosion occurred during a de-mining and search operation near the border between Kanker and Narayanpur districts, under the Chhotebethiya police station area.

The DRG team had been tasked with neutralizing hidden landmines, a critical operation in the region where Maoist insurgents have been active. During the operation, an IED, planted earlier, detonated, killing Inspector Sukhram Vatti and Constables Krishna Komra and Sanjay Gadhpale at the scene. Another constable, Parmanand Komra, was injured in the blast and is receiving treatment.

The IED explosion was so powerful that the personnel had no chance to escape. Despite the immediate rescue of the injured, the severity of their wounds led to the tragic loss of three brave soldiers.

Remembering the Fallen Heroes:

Sukhram Vatti (Inspector)
Krishna Komra (Constable)
Sanjay Gadhpale (Constable)

The incident underscores the ongoing risks faced by security forces in their efforts to eliminate IED threats in Maoist-dominated areas. The authorities have vowed to continue their mission of neutralizing explosives with intelligence provided by surrendered Maoists, but this tragedy serves as a somber reminder of the dangers involved.

Our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of these martyrs, who sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation.
