Parner: Former Chief Justice of India D. Y. Chandrachud on Monday urged the country’s youth to adopt the seven ‘S’ principles “to deal with competition and stress in modern times”.

He said this at Parner, Maharashtra, while inaugurating “Amrit Mahotsav”, the 75th year celebrations of Purnavad.  The Purnavad philosophy is evolved by Ramachandra Maharaj Parnekar. His disciple, Vishnu Maharaj Parnekar, is the present head of the Purnavad Foundation.

Justice Chandrachud, who served as the 50th CJ of India, said Purnavad had emphasised the evolution of an individual from family to society, then to the nation, and ultimately to global humanity, all on the path of divine unity. “The philosophy promoted the absence of duality”, he told the audience in Marathi.

Seven ‘S’ Principles for Youth

The seven ‘S” principles he wanted the youth to adopt were: Shista – discipline, Santulan – balance, Saamanjasya – understanding, Saatwik aahaar – good nutrition, Samaj kaarya – community service, Sadopachar – good thoughts and deeds, and Saadhana – yoga and prayer.

The Purnavad philosophy combined modern values with traditional wisdom, embracing cultural roots to promote social balance and stability, Justice Chandrachud added.
